Site area: 37 Hectares

Design start date:

Phase 1, 2009

Phase 2, landscape: 2010 – 2011

Location: Mashad

This project consists of phase one of the themed recreational complex, covering an area of 37 hectares, along with Phase Two, which focuses on landscape design. The proposal includes four distinct zones, each developed around a specific theme.

The project was designed in collaboration with several prominent Iranian cinema and theatre artists, as well as Forrec, a Canadian firm specializing in theme park design.

The indoor theme park, planned with a total area of approximately 60,000 square meters, was considered at the time to be one of the largest amusement parks in the Middle East.

Central Zone

The central lake functions as a water-screen projection area and is surrounded by green spaces, a covered seating area for spectators, and light recreational activities. This zone serves as a central hub for distributing visitors toward the surrounding themed zones: the Persian Garden, Ancient Iran (Persepolis/Bam Citadel), Children’s (Alladin), Ancient Egypt, and Animal Land.

Persian Garden and Pavilions

Located in the western part of the indoor recreational complex, this zone is accessible from the western hall exit and via the Central Zone through a rocky pathway. The Persian garden hosts rides such as a large vertical Ferris wheel, carousel, vintage car rides, and a Top Spin.

The section features two tree-lined courtyards surrounded by replicas of famous Iranian pavilions. Visitors enter through the Shazdeh Garden gatehouse after passing the Khaju Bridge. The courtyards connect via the Fin Garden pavilion and enters a large yard containing reconstructions of key national monuments, including Eram Garden (Shiraz), Ali Qapu Palace, Boroujerdi House, Sun Palace, and Dowlatabad Garden pavilion. Shops around the courtyards sell Iranian handicrafts, food, and souvenirs.

Ancient Iran Zone (Persepolis and Bam Citadel)

This zone has two parts: the Persepolis entrance with the Gate of Nations and columned hall, reconstructed in ancient Iranian style, and the Bam Citadel replica accessed via a bridge over a water feature. The Persepolis courtyard hosts seasonal light and sound shows, while Bam’s large courtyard supports performances and games. Surrounding pavilions include shops and services. The citadel’s western section is planned for a dark ride. The northern area features attractions like a children’s driving school, roller coaster, rock climbing, and bungee jumping.

Children’s World Zone

(Aladdin Palace)

Aladdin Palace marks the entrance and features the dark ride "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp." The zone offers child-sized rides like a mini roller coaster, drop tower, teacups, and animal-themed Ferris wheel.

Access to Animal Land (in the separate Kal area) is via a bridge at the northeast corner. There, visitors ride, a 3,400-meter train, through wooded animal exhibits with limited animatronic movements.

Ancient Egypt Zone

The Ancient Egypt Zone features the Triple Pyramids and Hanging Gardens. The design is based on detailed study of historical artifacts, making this one of the most elaborate and visually rich thematic areas, with large-scale statues and symbolic imagery.

Indoor spaces in the Egyptian temple are allocated for shops and restaurants. The underground level beneath the pyramids will house a dark ride showcasing ancient Egyptian visual effects.

Intermediate Recreational Areas

Intermediate zones separate main thematic areas and add variety. Between the Children’s and Ancient Egypt Zones is a tree-lined street with tents and a Performance House for children’s shows and gatherings, part of the Central Zone. Another area between the Persian Garden and Ancient Iran Zone features a lake and a flume ride.
